FROM VIAREGGIO, A DREAM BECOME REALITY: BURLAMACCO

Ma che fa Burlamacco? Chiude tutti dentro un sacco! Un bel pacco col fiocco e lo manda in Marocco.

Once upon a time, a cartoonist was looking to give to his city, Viareggio, his own Carnival mask. One night, he dreamt all the others masks who celebrated carnival, giving him something of their clothes.

Another time, Italian carnival masks tell us how gorgeous is to leave something to the others for free. Heartedness is a basic element to create happiness, my lovely Chikaima Maitea. As Henry David Thoreau wrote in his masterpiece Walden – or life in the woods:

“I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
