17 JANUARY 2024, ANOTHER STORY FROM THE BOOK I READ WITH MY DADDY DURING OUR QUALITY TIME

Abdel seeks friends (2)

A palm tree grew on the island; there lived a little monkey called Jojo who loved to play with coconuts. As soon as he saw Abdul and Cip arrive on the flying carpet, Jojo threw a coconut at them. "Ouch!" cried Abdul in fright. "Who threw this strange bullet at my head? Is someone having fun behind my back?" "What are you going to do under my palm, then?" asked the little monkey angrily. "I am looking for a new playmate. Wouldn't you like to come home with me on my flying carpet? I have many rooms in my palace." "Sure, gladly, I'll just take a couple of coconuts to refresh me on the journey." The little monkey nimbly climbed down from the palm tree, took a seat next to Abdul and little Cip, and the magic carpet took off. Below them they saw lakes and rivers, meadows and forests, towns and cities. Eventually they flew over the desert, an immense expanse of fine yellow sand. Suddenly, little Abdul heard a muffled moan. He immediately ordered the carpet to land and saw a teary-eyed lion licking a swollen paw in distress. "Ouch! A thorn has stuck in me, and I can't get it out because it's too deep. Can't you help me? Ouch!" "Hm," made little Abdul shake his head, "what could we do?" "I know how to do it," intervened little Cip. "For what reason then would I have my sharp beak?" And even before Baba the little lion realised what was happening, the thorn was removed. "No would you like to come with us and be our new playmate?" asked Abdul to Baba. The lion cub happily accepted and sat down on the flying carpet. The four friends reached the Land of the Rising Sun without any further adventures. You cannot even imagine how happy they were together! To this day, the four little friends are still ready for new tricks and games in Abdul's big house, but that's another story!
